Auction Sniper for eBay App Reviews

Over the years Ive bought thousands of dollars of stuff on eBay using "buy it now, but not once did I win an auction. Until tonight, when this app helped me win a (very very small) auction. Were going for big game in a couple of days. I hope it works as well on high ticket items. There are lots of niggling bugs (like save dialogs that wont go away requiring a force quit and various hangs). However Im quite intrigued and satisfied as of now.

This app does the trick! You need to make sure your computer is configured correctly, so take some time to follow the written insturctions provided.

I’ve used other tools like this, but this one is easy to use. Just use the built in browser as your ‘ebay’ browser. Once you’re logged in to eBay, find the item you want to win the bid on, and in the bottom right it will tell you to enter the bid amount of what you want to pay for the item, submit and you’re done. The program has an option to allow your mac to power on or wake up, and bid on the auction which is another great feature, but I normally keep my mac running all the time so for me, I put it in another workspace and let it run. I won an auction the first time I used it. It’s well worth the $$$ being asked for it in the AppStore.

Love the app. I’ve used it numerous times to score last second deals on auctions. It’s always worked reliably well and is a joy to use.

I have been using this App for at least a year and have loved it. The current version crashes in Mountain Lion. One more reason to upgrade my Mac to Yosemite.

I can’t believe it worked. I installed this with hesitation. Been bidding on an item for 2 months, always loosing it after bidding more then I should have. After setting up this app “Auction Buyers Bidding Snipe” and letting it do its thing, I was watching it and was shocked when this app sent my bid in the last 5 seconds. I got the the item I’ve been wanting for 2 months. This is the first item I’ve ever won without over paying on it. I got a great price, one that I decided on several hours prior to the Auction ending.

This program has helped me win many auctions. It has never mis-fired on me. I recommend this for everyone looking to win auctions without having to be at the keyboard for the last few seconds of every auction. I have an iPhone, a MacBook Air and a Mac Mini and once I set up the syncing properly, this app performed like a champ. If you want to win more eBay auctions, get this app right now!

Not only does it operate as promised, It was easy to learn. I buy things on eBay to sell elsewhere. With this app, I submit my bids two or three times a week and then go on with other things I need to accomplish. It works better than bidding directly because it does not start any bidding wars between you and another bidder. Also, you do not have to deal with eBay’s constant notifications about being outbid or watched item ending soon. Those things drive me nuts for some reason. To use, find the item you are interested in, enter your max bid, and then just forget about it. Simplicity - you got to love that. While I have won several items this way in just two weeks, there have been many items that have gone higher than I wish to pay. When that happens, you click the edit button and remove those items or leave it on the list to see how high it does climb.

This app makes dealing with eBay auctions quite a bit easier. Sign in to eBay, find an auction, place your bid and it will take care of the rest. Well done! This app has already paid for its self 8 times over in just 3 auctions. The interface is a littel clunky and I think the name is terrible but it does what I need it to and it saves me money. Spend a little time figuring out how it works but the jist is to find a bunch of acutions you want to bid on, you setup a “snipe” for each auction and then put them into a cluster where it will stop bidding once it wins one .. .and then you wait! :) Works great.

The bid sniper is a fantastic tool! You place your highest bid with 5 seconds (or less!) in the auction and both ebay and other bidders are hard pressed to respond fast enough. It gives you a greater measure of self discipline, too, because you don’t have time to allow your best bid to slide even higher. I find the tool very useful.

This thing works great: I love being able to just set the max price I’m willing to pay, forget about it, and then, a few days later, get a notification on my phone that I’ve won an auction. The cluster function is also a great tool for when you’re bidding on multiple auctions for the same item. That said, I have a few gripes. I cannot get the thing to sync with the iPhone app—in fact it deleted all my bids when I first installed the phone app. The interface is functional, but could be slightly better. For example, when deleting something from the snipe list, I sometimes don’t realize it’s gone and then click again and delete the next item (plus, in edit mode, you can’t see which auctions you have been outbid/won/etc.). Alerts bring up new windows for some reason. Finally—and I suppose this is trivial, but it’s irritating anyway—the name of the program is so long that it takes up literally more than a third of my menu bar. I understand the name’s for marketing purposes, but can’t it be changed inside the program? In summary, it still works amazingly well and is worth every penny.

Had questions about how the program worked and the programmer responded very quickly, answered all the questions and helped me understand “sniping”. The app then worked perfectly, allowing me to win 3 auctions without hovering over the auction. What I LOVE most is how the app avoids over-bidding. When you enter the maximum amount for your snipe, the app only bids enough to win the auction!!! It does not use the max unless necessary. That’s why there’s no need to monitor the auction. Just settle on the maximum amount you bid, enter that and then your done. If you lose, its only becuase the price went higher than you were willing to pay. If you win, odds are you win without getting to your maximum amount. Avoids all the “bid war” issues of using Ebay’s “max bid” feature. This is WAY better. All easy to set up. Great app. HIghly recommend.

After finally restarting my business which involves reselling used items individually when purchased in large lots, I wanted to stick to my Mac for all work related items. It was great to find an auction sniper that ran natively on the Mac (no relying on third party servers), and didn’t require paying a fee for every auction, which would quickly add up! After setting up my iMac, it has won multiple auctions while I was asleep, away from the office, or working on something else. Highly recommended!

The interface is a bit crude (functional, but ugly), but the software works just as it should. Ive tried it with 4 different auctions today, and the functionality is top-notch.

Fantastic program to make developer money. I can’t comment on the program because it won’t load, could have spent the money on something worthwhile, this is useless

I bought this based on the great ratings that it has but I have been unable to win any auctions because the app doesn’t keep me signed in. Just yesterday I opened it and signed in, then placed a snipe price, but this morning I saw that I was no longer signed in and didn’t win the bid I had placed. I’ve contacted the app creator and never heard back from him, despite recently receiving an email stating that he responds to emails within 24-48 hours. I’m highly disappointed and will be asking for a refund.

This is a great applicatoin that helps you win ebay auctions at the last second. It is super easy to use with a great user interface and functions well. I have won my first auction just now as a result of bidding at the last 2.7 seconds!

This application crashes when I try to open it. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall. Useless program in it’s current state for me. When It works it works great.

This app has additional downloads and 10 minutes of set up instructions just to get it working. I’ve used several Ebay tools and this is EASILY the most clunky. Save yourself some aggravation and find another tool.
